Amsterdam is a city full of excitement and the coffee scene is no exception to the vibrant culture of this city. I cannot emphasize enough that this is a post about the best cafés in Amsterdam, not the best coffee shops; that would be an entirely different post.
Luuk’s Coffee
After buying myself a vintage newsboy hat at the Noordermarkt, a caffeine craving hit me hard and fast. Luckily, Luuk’s was just a quick walk down the block and serving up some delicious specialty coffee. Luuk’s roasts their own beans and I know the coffee does the job it’s meant to because it snapped me right back into the reality that I’ll never be able to pull off a newsboy hat.

Un.common Cafe
On a walk to Vondelpark, my friend and I saw a hoard of people gathered outside of Uncommon Café and after a quick google search, we declared we should return for breakfast the following morning. Now I want you to take me seriously when I say this because I don’t use this phrase haphazardly, Uncommon is one of my favorite cafés in the world. The specialty coffee is incredible but come hungry because the food is absurdly delicious. The warm oats opened my eyes to the injustice we as a society have been serving to oatmeal. If you go nowhere else in Amsterdam, go to Uncommon Café.

Coffee Spot Haarlem
If you’re in Amsterdam and looking for a quick day trip outside of the city, I highly recommend visiting Haarlem. If you decide to visit, Coffee Spot is the perfect café for the obligatory afternoon pick-me-up (bonus points for the shop cat).
