Best Coffee Shops in Split, Croatia

If you know me, then you’re familiar with my addiction to finding coffee shops everywhere I go. So much so that I’ve compiled all my favorites into a map and have an entire page on my blog dedicated to hunting down the best coffee shops around the world. I’ve been known to plan routes around coffee shops I want to try and in the case of my trip to Split, I even opted to take an Uber at the crack of dawn to try a coffee shop before a tour rather than embracing the free hostel coffee. This is not something I’m proud to admit, as I said it’s a serious addiction.

I find that the destinations I least expect to find good coffee always leave me pleasantly surprised, and Split was definitely one of these places for me. Split is home to many lovely specialty coffee shops in its quaint old town, and while there were many more I wanted to try (Stow Coffee Roasters if I’m ever back in Split we will be crossing paths), I was able to try three wonderful options; an acceptable number considering I only had 24 hours to do so. Not a record, but it’ll do for now. Anyway, here are three great coffee shops to visit when you’re in Split, Croatia.

Kava²

When your day starts immediately after a 12-hour overnight bus ride, there is no debate that the first stop must be a coffee shop. I jumped off the bus and immediately ran to Kava²where I had my favorite coffee in Split. The interior was beautifully curated to suit their incredible specialty coffee and delicious pastries.

Utopia

If you’re looking for specialty coffee outside of the Old Town, Utopia is serving up some quality pours in Split 3.

Tucked just around the corner from Diocletian’s Palace, D16 is the perfect place to refuel with some specialty coffee after exploring the Old Town.
